Valentines Day!!

Ok, so all this talk about "Love Actually" and with Valentines Day approaching it has got me thinking about this movie that I have been seeing previews for.  I am SO EXCITED to see it!!  Of course, I know, it probably will not be on near the same level as Love Actually, but the premises seem similar, and they both have these fantastic casts, with all these different, inter-twining relationships.  I think it will also be a romantic movie but with a fun playful twist on Valentines Day itself.  It opens February 12.  I can't wait!!

I am also excited for this.  Though I know that it will be sad ( I insanely love and loathe Nicholas Sparks forthis purpose).  My mother bought the book, and I told her I wanted to read it, but this was right after the pumpkin was born, and I was just trying to stay sane, much less sit down and lesiurely read a romantic love story, so I never did read it.  Once I gathered myself back together, and conquered Mommyhood, my mom offered it to me, but after she called me late one night balling talking about how much she "hates" (loves) his books because they always end in tragedy, I steadily declined becuase I knew someone must die.  So, I know I am asking for it, but I want to see it.  I also think this Tatum fellow is somewhat of a little scrumptious muffin!

I did the same thing with The Notebook.  I had seen the movie with Mandy Moore, A Walk to Remember, and I LOVED that, but just couldn't get over how she dies in the end.  I also loved Message in a Bottle, but thought it was terribly sad too.  I refused to watch the Notebook, and then a couple years after it came out, I decided I would watch it after some girls at work were talking about the book.  This was when my hubby and I were first together.  I picked it up after a short day of work and classes, he comes home, and I'm sitting on the couch balling my freaking head off, and he thinks I must be nuts!!  And, I just keep talking about how they had this incredible love story, and this is my favorite movie of all time, and I can't believe what I have been missing out on all this time, and how I was going to watch for a second time right then.  And just like that, I was hooked on his stuff.

This was hard for me, I LOVE MOVIES!!!  Seriously, love movies.  I actually almost freaked out bc I LOVE LOVE LOVE "Love Actually, which was one of Taylor's picks!"  And rocking the babe last night, I thought that I might pick Love Actually, but I have decided that I will keep that as part of my fav Christmas Movies which I have to leave in an altogether seperate catergory.  I always always always watch that at Christmas over and over again, along with National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, The Family Man, The Bishops Wife, Elf, and It's a Wonderful Life.  So, that also brought me to Breakfast at Tiffany's with Audrey Hepburn because that was my all time fav movie for a very long time, but I had to push that aside because, I thought, do I watch it repeatedly over and over again??  And the answer was no, while I do love it, I no longer watch it over and over again as I did in the past. And that to me, says it's probably not one of my absolute favs anymore.  And, I might remember something else I like too, but for now, these are my pics:

1.

An oldie.  When I was a little girl, my mother and I used to sghare a pint of Chocolate Chocolate Chip Haagen Daz Ice Cream and watch old black and white movies and Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous.  This was my all time favorite black and white we watched, and I used to ask her to watch it over and over, but she always made me experience other black and white movies, and I'm so glad she did. Katherine Hepburn and Cary Grant were my favorite on screen couple and they did many movies together.  Katherine, is amazing, she made wearing pant(suits) chic for women, epitomizes grace and exudes class and sophistication(like Audrey Hepburn but with Chic girlie clothes); while Cary Grant is so debonair, suave, and charming. They are kind of like the Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan of today.  I try and make my husband watch it with me, but while he did like it, he does not share my passion to watch it over and over again...

2.

Now, I'm mixing in my favorite NOW movie.  I literally have watched this movie no less than 50 times since it came out, I'm sure.  It is one of those movies that whenever I am bored or needing just some noise, needing a lift, or want to sit down and watch a movie, or there is nothing to watch, this is my staple.  I never NEVER tire of watching this movie (hence I have seen it about 50 times).  I loved the book.  I love animals.  It reminds me of our challenging black labrador, and I love both actors.  Mostly, I love the story that it tells about loving animals, raising a family, careers, challenges, friendship, and life.  I find it amazing, and it always lifts my spitits, and makes me cry at the same time.

I LOVE how beautiful Jen looks in her wedding gown, hair, and make-up in the scene at the beginning while they are sticking their feet in the bubble bath jacuzzi talking about their love and the new life ahead of them...just beautiful!!

Thanks Taylor, for letting us all share.  I can't wait to see everyone's picks!!
