"Feeeeeed Me Seymore..."

It's here, it's here!!!

Nikolina's Chicco High Chair is here! It arrived today, I came home, and there it was waiting on the front porch! I put purchasing it on the back burner, since I knew we wouldn't need it for a few months. With mixed emotions, I knew it was finally getting near that time...It's so exciting, and I can't wait to set it up, but also tickles the heart that our little pumpkin is getting so very big, so very fast. It was never a stretch for her to be getting bigger, she came out 8 lbs, 8 ounces and has remained in the 97th percentile for height and weight ever since, but she is getting bigger, bigger. You always hear people say that such and such a time is the 'best age, best stage for children'...I read somewhere, that the best stage of your child's life, is the current stage your child is in. That kind of stuck with me, and I have to agree. Each day that Nik gets older, I love each day, and each day seems like the best day. I am loving watching her grow, learn, and become a very tiny person, with a huge personality!

You carry my heart and soul with you, every step, every breath you take.
All that I have, all that I am, I give to you.
You are my everything, my all.

Tell Tale Heart

Sometimes, when I drop Nikolina off in the morning, it is the absolute worst thing I have ever had to do in my life--I mean, it really is the absolutly most difficult thing I have ever had to do in my life. Today, she just looked at me with this look, like "please don't leave me, what did I do?, I promise I'll be good, just don't go" and I swear my heart literally broke in to a million pieces. Everyone kept telling me how, it would be really difficult at first, but that it would get easier to leave her, and I keep waiting for that to kick in, and it hasn't yet...it is still unbearable every day. I pretty much cry at least once a day ranging anywhere from a single tear to a full blown out "break down." I manage to get through the day by pretty much just going numb and comatose, and trying not to think about much of anything, because if I allow myself to slow down, and really stop and think, I will remember that I don't know how my daughter is doing, I don't know what she is doing, or how she is feeling. I don't know if she is happy or sad, if she is lonely or scared. I don't know if she misses me, or if she feels like I abandoned her. Does she keep waiting for me to walk through the door, pick her up in my arms, and rescue her, smothering her with hugs and kisses. Does she even know how very much I wish I could change the situation I have put her in. Is she talking away, rolling over, having a giggle fit, or is she being quiet in the corner, quitely waiting for me to return. I'd pretty much give everything that I own, everything that I have, to be with her-kidney, organs you name it. I just hope that one day she'll forgive me...

Fall Follies

This weekend, we got a little sneak peak at Fall...Fall is my absolute favorite season, so I tried to spend as much time as I could outdoors with the pumpkin. We went shopping, made a visit to "Mimi" at Von Maur, Mimi and Papa dropped in to take the pumpkin for a stroller ride, we visited Grandpa, and took lots of walks. It was so chilly, I even tried out her JJ Cole Car Seat Fleecy. I later, of course, had to remove it because the poor thing started sweating (calm down, Mom, it's not quite that cold out, yet!). But, I got a quick snap shot of the pumpkin in it, with "little Bunny Foo Foo." I think the pumpkin is excited for fall too!

One more snuggled in her blankee.

"Nikolina! What have I told you?!! Little girls do not lick their fingers!!!

Badeeeeb, Badeeeeb!! That's all Folks!

Veggie Tales and Squash Feet

We started with this...

and moved to this!

We tried some squash today!!, but we were none too thrilled with it. (Our neighbor advised we start with the yellow vegetables over the green), but Nikolina let me know that she was not having any squash vegetables--no, no, none of it!! I had the food ready, spoon in hand, and she started getting all excited and shaking her fists, and moving about in her chair, and taking these little excited breaths, and then, I put a spoonful in her mouth... and she made the most horrible face, and tried desperately to remove any last remnants of the squash from her mouth. It really broke my heart to see that she disliked it so. I was kind of excited to move her on to something new, but it obviously is not going to be squash! I thought really how bad could it be, and took a little taste myself...she was watching me very closely, so I smiled and said, "Mmmmm, " through clenched jaws---I was really trying to hold back a very loud, Eeeeeeeeewwwwwwwww!!! But I couldn't let her know that. She seemed to warm to it again after my "positive" reaction, and I tried giving her a little bit. But, she just didn't buy what I was selling today. She still wasn't having it. I made a "Humph" sound and turned to go get her some rice cereal instead (I knew she wouldn't be reaching for it again, so I figured it was safe on the counter). I started to get a feeling like I should check on her, so I turned around, and out of the corner of my eye, I saw her grab the container and fling it, just in case I didn't get the message the first time--then she proceeded to start playing with her feet, and now we had "squash feet."

DA BEARS!

It was the Bears first Sunday Game this weekend!!!
Nikolina actually cheered immediately after the Bears scored a touchdown, all by herself!!!
Do we have a Bears fan in the making, future NFL Cheerleader, perhaps...

Why do I have a bad feeling about this...?
I just can't condone this underage drinking, I'll have no part of it-Dad!

Kenziepoo

I came upon this website, and fell in love with these headbands!
I am in love with Etsy, blogs, and the creativity I have seen.
We are on a budget, so I enlisted my mother's help, she notified me Friday, and the pumpkin's headbands are on their way as we speak. I will be sure to post pictures of the pumpkin as soon as they arrive. I can't wait!!! Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek!!!!

Life's No Day at the Pool...Ok, well sometimes it is.

Auntie Jordie came to visit before heading back to Butler...We ordered Noodles and Co. (thanks Lyds :)

Nikolina tried to steal the rice krispie treat for dessert after some cereal...

"Yes, I can eat this whole rice krispie treat by myself, thank you very much!"

"Yeah, I love you, Auntie Jordie!"

"I think I may have to poo..."

"Yeah, me, I can, I can poo!"
