Nikolina's Christening

Nikolina's big day. Todd (Godfather), Tammie, and Savannah came to town Saturday. Uncle Todd helped mow the lawn, with beer in hand, while Josh and I tried to set things up outside. While we were all pre-occupied, our black Lab, Diez decided to make a break for it, and ran away the night before the Christening. Soooo, we spent about 8 hours looking for him, with no luck. We found out on Sunday afternoon that he was at the city pound. He had been right down the street, on our block, and a neighbor had phoned the pound Saturday evening. I can't believe we were driving all over townl looking for him, driving 10 miles an hour and yelling his name out of the Tahoe like a crazy person, and he was on the other side of the block!!! We couldn't pick him up unitl Monday, but as it happens, as much as we wanted him back home, we thought maybe a night at the pound would do him some good. Maybe it would make him think twice about running away again. Probably not. We managed to make it through the Christening and the Open House was a success. Nikolina was welcomed into the Catholic Church today surrounded by God, Family, and the Community.
